1952

Boris Pasternak

"About dreams. It is usually taken for granted that you dream of something that has made a particularly strong impression on you during the day, but it seems to me it´s just the contrary. Often it´s something you paid no attention to at the time -- a vague thought that you didn´t bother to think out to the end, words spoken without feeling and which passed unnoticed -- these are the things that return at night, clothed in flesh and blood, and they become the subjects of dreams, as if to make up for having been ignored during waking hours."

Public kissing.

I ran into a funny article a few days ago on gizmag.com:
"The KissPhone for remote kissing"
[link: http://www.gizmag.com/the-kissphone-for-remote-kissing/11532/]
This article reffers to this new artefact created by a french freelancer (Georges Koussouros).
The device is supposed to bring, i think, the sensation of a kiss... in fact, a virtual kiss thanks to a thing called "teledildonics" (electronic sex toys controlled by a computer).
It is phisicly desing to create remote kissing, including "the pressure, percussion speed, temperature, and sucking force of your mouth (...)", so it has a mouth made out of silocone to recreate the kisses someone sends and recieves.
Another cool thing about this device, is the "kiss bank", in which users are able to download or upload a kiss from the web.
So, lets say .... im in a mood for some "Orlando Bloom's sex appeal"... i log into the KissPhone website and search some Bloom's love for my entertainment.
Weird huh???
This is the WEIRDEST phone i've ever seen, funny but VERY STRANGE.
I dont know what scares me the most... that maybe when i get really famous (not) people will be able to KISS ME VIRTUALLY... or the fact that...
because of the daily progress that techonology has, one day...
people could just have sex with me... not as phone sex or whatever,
but VIRTUAL PHYSICAL SEX.
Gross and disgusting.
ANYWAY, for every weirdo out there...
CONGRATULATIONS! Feel free to use your KissPhone publicly... on the streets, subway, class room, hallway... etc.

Joyeux jour pour les graphistes

So, the "World's Graphics Day" just passed (yesterday in fact)
Why do people "conmemorate" this day?...
Well, in my opinion, i think the main reason is pretty simple.
Hard to tell, but we breath, smell, see, hear even feel graphic design
EVERY SINGLE DAY.
You're probably saying that im wrong because, even the name says it:
"GRAPHIC"
(which reffers to the action of seeing something, formed by writing, drawing, or engraving and represented by a graph)
The truth is that, images tells us a lot, and even though they are static most of the time, it can bring to us more than a thousand words.
In fact, our life would be pretty plain and boring without them.
Desing is everywhere.
It affects your opinion, your way of being, the things you like, the things you use, the products you consume; it will establish the impact of the ideas that revolve around the universe.
Honest, thanks for making my life more "mentally dinamic" everyday.

First thing must come first
*Paraphernalia*?... you are probably wondering what that *complicated* word means.
In fact, its not that hard to get. If you "google" it, you will probably find:
- a few shops, associations or organizations with that name (most of them, designers, producers and sellers of certain articles, such as furniture, jewlery and the list goes on)
- the wikipedia website has its own version of the word; Paraphernalia is a term of art from older law, in which the use of this reffers to the belognies of a married woman and how the management of her property should be done only by her or under her consent. My guess is that the greeks invented the word when a "so called" divorce of those days would have get in the way (im not even sure if divorce existed in that time, correct me if im wrong please)
- something called: drug paraphernalia; which basically reffers to legal tools people use for making, using, or concealing illegal drugs. It would be illegal to possess, sell, transport, import, or export this particular equipment, if the purpose of its use is dubious. (veeeeeeeeeeeery interesting)
and,
- dictonary definitions; personal belongings, accessory items or articles of equipment (GOOO Merriam-Webster!!!)
To me, they all reffer to the same: belognings, articles, items, tools... *stuff*. But it is more than that. Its a whole new concept. Once again, my perception was limited. I had on my mind only one definition and now i ended up with a different view of a word, that for me it was *funny* to pronounce and its meaning is quite *awesome* for a complicated word like that one (*stuff*).
Such is life... we have to look beyond the horizon and to think outside the box.
And, that is what this is all about... *my noisy paraphernalia* that you might like to read (you might not). Enjoy.
